Laser Dentistry
Dr. Yeva has undergone specialized training to ensure safe and effective use of laser in dentistry. She has extensive expertise and knowledge using lasers to provide her patients with minimally-invasive procedures, which would otherwise require invasive surgical procedures such as crown lengthening, gum contouring, and reduction of gingival pockets for periodontal procedures. With the advancement of laser dentistry, we are able to treat patients with excessive gum display with a minimally invasive short quick procedure with zero down time. With laser technology, these procedures are smoother, faster, and eliminate any chance of infection or bacteria buildup post-surgically.
One of Dr. Yeva’s favorite procedures to do is gum contouring which raises the gum tissue to enhance the appearance of the teeth, especially in situations where there is excessive gum display.
What type of laser is used?
The Gemini is the first dual-wavelength soft-tissue diode laser with the most powerful tissue laser available.
The Gemini Laser is named for its ability to emit two different wavelengths of laser light: 940 nm (nanometers) and 532 nm. These wavelengths are within the infrared and green visible light spectrum, respectively. The laser's dual wavelength feature allows it to effectively target different types of tissues in the mouth, including soft tissue (gums) and hard tissue (teeth and bone).
