Gum Contouring

Gum contouring, also known as gum reshaping or gum sculpting. It is a cosmetic dental procedure that involves reshaping the gumline to improve the appearance of the teeth. It is typically done to correct an uneven or excessive gumline, also called a "gummy smile." Using ultra-conservative methods is always Dr. Yeva’s top priority. She uses laser technology to carefully trim away excess gum tissue to reshape the gumline.

Will it be painful?

Gum contouring is generally performed under local anesthesia where the gums are lightly numbed to ensure optimal comfort. The recovery period is usually quick, with minimal discomfort and swelling. Patients are typically advised to follow good oral hygiene practices, including gentle brushing and flossing, and to avoid foods that are acidic, or spicy, to avoid any irritation to the gums until the area has fully healed.
